Universal Geneve Senna 41, ref. 998.310

First model in the UG – IAS colaboration, the Senna 41

In the last part of the 1990’s Universal Geneve collaborated with the Ayrton Senna Institute (IAS). Established in 1994 by Ayrtons Senna’s family and directed by Viviane Senna. Viviane being Ayrton’s sister, and mother of Formula One driver Bruno Senna.

The collaboration brought about two devoted watches, from what piece of the benefit was given to the IAS. The primary watch was the chronograph model ‘Senna 41’, the star of this article. The second a 3-hand model, the ‘Senna 65’. The numbers were taken from the 41 Formula One successes in Ayrton Senna’s vocation, and the 65 shaft positions.

Variations of the Senna 41 model

The Senna 65 Chronograph was accessible in three dial varieties, silver, dark and yellow. Further it was accessible in a quartz adaptation and the COSC chronometer guaranteed programmed form as seen here. There was a decision for a metal wristband or a calfskin lash with collapsing clasp as well.

Both variants were made in steel in combination with something what Universal Geneve referenced as carbon around then. As far as anyone is concerned it wasn’t genuine carbon, however simply a sort of plastic, most likely mixed with some carbon empowering to utilize ‘carbon’ in it’s description.

A official watch

As of a year ago the Universal Geneve Senna 41 can even be demonstrated as an official watch. The current leader of the United States claimed one back in the days. Obviously he couldn’t settle for a treated steel observe so decided for one of the not many which were made in 18k strong gold. I’m not certain if this presently adds to the fame to the watch though.
