Cars and watches, [almost] consistently a decent combination. Frederique Constant’s CEO Peter Stas probably thought so too when he began to help vintage vehicle rallies back in 2004. In addition to the fact that they support the European Healey Club again in 2018, they additionally chose to celebrate with another Frederique Constant Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph.

Vintage Rally Healey Chronographs

The vintage in the name ‘Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph’ obviously alludes to the assembly they uphold, yet in addition to the motivation of the three new chronograph models. Restricted to 2888 pieces each, these chronographs come in a 42mm case in tempered steel and in plated rose gold. For the hardened steel form, there are two dial executions: one with (dashing) green and white subdials and one in silver with dim subdials. The plated rose gold Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph has a naval force shading dial with white subdials. All watches come with coordinating hustling (punctured) straps.

Aside from the plated rose gold and dial varieties, each of the three watches come with similar particulars. They have the FC-397 chronograph type introduced, ticking at 28.800vph and offering a 46-hour power hold. This chronograph development is an ETA based type, with two registers. One showing the running seconds, and at 3 o’clock you will locate a 30-minutes counter. The development is obvious through the sapphire case back, as you can see below.

Two register chronographs have been hot for some time, and absolutely in-accordance with the furor for vintage (chronograph) watches. In the event that it wasn’t for the size of this watch and the immense Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, this watch could be effectively confused with a genuine vintage watch. Gracious, and the raised sapphire gem of course.

The two steel forms retail for €2595/$2795USD, and the plated rose gold variant for €2895/$3095USD. The hardened steel green dial Frederique Constant Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph has reference number FC-397HGR5B6. The white and dim dial adaptation has reference number FC-397HSG5B6 and the plated rose gold watch has reference number FC-397HN5B4. All 3x 2888 watches are numbered looking into it back.

Our own preference would be the white and dim Frederique Constant Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph. The green one is British undoubtedly, yet over the long haul, we feel the white and dark may be a smidgen more work of art. The plated rose gold is pleasant, yet it makes it an over the top dress watch for us.

Back to supporting conventions: In July, the Healey Club France will partake in the “Le Mans Classic” 2018 assembly with the race group comprising of the Austin Healey 3000 MK II 54 FAC of Jetze Visser and the drivers Jan Lammers and Jaap Sinke.
